Vera Klement Born in Danzig, (Gdansk), 1929 Education: The Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture, New York, NY, 1950 Lives in Chicago, IL Painter Vera Klement dismantles the single, continuous "picture" into multiple canvases, fracturing the image, rupturing continuity and reconfiguring it into an uneasy new poetic entity. Her removal of objects from their "natural" environment allows them to assume mythic qualities as do her choices of images of ancient pottery, pyramids, mermaids and other archetypal icons. upcoming exhibitions Poetry as Painting, Michael M.
