Lives in Chicago, IL

Chance and serendipity, stains and pours are used by Judith Geichman to evoke the harmonies and tensions found in the relationships between the natural and the man-made. The multi-layered worlds of her paintings and works on paper are the result of her fusion of improvisational gestures with inventive experiments with non-traditional materials.  By incorporating suede fiber, commercially known as Flock, into her work she creates hypnotic spaces that evoke 18th century French pastoral scenes filtered through the gritty haze of urban atmospheres.
